About the project
Huuto Alphabet was a project initiated and organized by Marja Viitahuhta for the 10th anniversary celebration of artist run space Galleria Huuto. The project was a collection of artworks from 29 artist members of the gallery. The works were set in alphabetical order according to their titles, thus together forming a kind of an artistic alphabet with varied media.
Each artist was given a letter and a size limit: the works should not be larger than 30 cm x 30 cm x 30 cm. Thus Huuto Alphabet represented the variety of contemporary art media: photography, painting, sculpture, mixed media, drawing, text, video. Some of the works were made especially for this series, whereas some of the artists suggested already completed works.
The project was published in the form of two exhibitions as well as a website designed by Azar Saiyar and Joonas Kiviharju (no longer available for viewing). However you can have a look at the artworks from this page:
